To clone a Whatsapp number, the scammer downloads the application on a cell phone and registers the victim's phone number. The owner will receive a six-digit verification code via SMS. To get the code, the scammer will impersonate an employee of the sales app with the excuse of activating the ad only after providing the code_
Attention!!!!
1. Sales apps don't ask for codes to activate ads, so disregard them if you're asked.
Do this:
2. Enable the two-step confirmation option in whatsapp. When you need to register your number again in the app (if you change phones or reinstall the app), it will require a six-digit password that only you will know.
3. If you've already fallen for this scam, ask for your whatsapp account to be temporarily deactivated by sending an e-mail to support@whatsapp.com, explaining what happened and providing your phone number.
