We have news for travel lovers: After a year and a half, the possibilities of non-essential travel between Portugal and Brazil are back. The news comes from our Partner in Portugal, Dr. Frederico Rego, a specialist in migration planning and naturalization processes and other visas for foreigners. Since the first day of September, the Portuguese government has published order 8652-C/2021 approving the return of tourists from Brazil to the European country.
Brazil was one of the most affected by Covid-19, being left off the entry list in several countries, but now with the increase in vaccinated people in Brazilian territory, some countries have begun to consider reopening to these people, and the rule for entry into the Portuguese country is to present a negative RT-PCR (or similar NAAT) test carried out up to 72 hours before boarding or a rapid antigen test carried out no more than 48 hours before. The decision could be reviewed on September 16. The country has been assessing health conditions every 15 days since the beginning of the pandemic. In Portugal, a large part of the population has already been vaccinated and cases are under control. They managed to immunize 85% of the population, which is why it was possible to open the borders. It's worth remembering that wearing a mask is also compulsory in the country.
There is great expectation of an increase in the flow of tourists between the two countries. When will you start thinking about the possibility of visiting or revisiting Portugal?
